The Electronics Department at ACC is going have their Chess "Playing" Robot Arm at Maker Faire. I was reading through the Makers Agreement today and it brought up a bunch of questionsand issues, many of which apply to the Robot Group's participation in Maker Faire. I think they are of interest to anyone considering participating, but the RG elected officers and/or board will probably be handling the details.
1. Each booth gets 2 all access passes and 2 one day visitor passes. I assume that the all access passes are required for drop off and setup times. So I assume that they will be making special arrangements to give us extra all access passes?
2. Flooring in the Show Barn is loose dirt, packed dirt, and/or cement. Will we ask for space on the cement slab?
3. Security - the building cannot be locked at night but roaming security guards are provided. Small items should be removed from the booth or locked in a large storage box at closing time. Large items should be covered with a fire-retardent cover.
4. Tables, chairs, and safety barricades - sounds like we need to bring our owm.
5. Maker Faire has general liability insurance, but it does not cover your booth, the contents of your booth, visitors or personnel in the booth.Makers shall obtain insurance against such hazards.
6. Indoor display vehicles and Motorized Display Items must have fuel level less than 3 gallons. I assume they are mainly concerned about vehicles with internal conbustion engines. I wonder if they will have concerns about electric vehicles and mobile robots?
Thanks,
Bob Comer
