No question about it, people can call themselves anything they want.  
Whether or not the name accurately reflects what they do is a  
different matter, and the one I have been wrestling with ever since I  
realized The Robot Group is not specifically a robotics group. I  
acknowledge that my assumption was my own error.

I have no idea what a simple amendment would cost. Can anyone with  
facts address this question?

To what "standing" do you refer?

I have no desire to start a robotics group since I already have my  
hands full with my ongoing fab lab project. Ironically it will have  
much to do with general technology and art, but a robotics group it  
is not.

You don't start fabricating umbrellas while standing out in the rain.  
I am working on the infrastructure first, and I will share it when it  
gets far enough along.
