Good work Vern!
The robot building world seems largely divided between:
hobby robots
industrial robots
military / police bomb squad robots
academic robots
entertainment robots.
Unfortunately there is very little crossover, and the magazines and
suppliers tend to
only deal with one group. There is a lot to be done in robotics, and it
would be
great to have more overlap. Perhaps you can help with this.
Some of the "hobby" robots are pretty ambitious, and some of the
academic / military
robots are terribly expensive and don't work all that well. The Disney
people have a super
high pressure pneumatic robot that can play completive ping-pong.
Some folks don't what their robot compared to a hobby robot, and there
is little publicity
for a military robot that shoots itself in the foot.
