 From a reader's perspective:

With the amount of traffic on the list over the past couple of days, 
I find it more difficult to keep track of news and information when 
it is hidden in a hijacked or drifted thread.  That is particularly 
the case when I have already mentally marked that thread as have no 
further interest to me.

 From a poster's perspective:

See above when no one has posted a reply to your request for help or 
information.  Perhaps you tucked it away in a hijacked / drifted 
thread.
