yup, looks like I will just have to scour all the departments to find stuff. 
One of those links had this:

But, it's more a administrative calandar rather than tech talks.

In silicon valley, there were a number of event scheduling companies like 
"SD Forum":

The majority of talks where at Xerox Parc, the computer history museum, and 
other cool places.

Trying to find some similar stuff here to pick up once in a while...
