So your battery is Pb or lead, probably seal lead acid. That would be
non-lithium as far as the switches go. Not sure on the full speed
forward/back operation. You might want to hook up a scope and see if you are
really getting R/C signals - or just hook up a servo to the two controlling
channels and see if they act normallly - as in, see if they move smoothly
and follow the joystick from one extreme, through the center, to the other
extreme.
I'll look at the MC data sheet if I get a minute later.
