[Robotgroup] Embedded Gnu/Linux Hardware Recommendation?

the linksys wrt54g router and nslu2 network to usb
drive have been well hacked. The wrt54g has wireless
lan and I think serial port, the nslu2 has usb host
capabilities for thumbdrives, etc.
As for an imbedded board with I/O pins not sure, maybe
try the products from gumstix.
Eric has a small pc (on seekerbot I think) but I
forgot the brand.
I dont know if the Make Magazine sponsored products
run linux or not.

Some of these devices can take several Amps so match
the power consumption with your battery requirements.
The hardest part of the selection is drivers,
especially if its a small or custom flavor of linux.
If for example you want usb webcam video in, then make
sure there is usb and a reliable driver for that
webcam or else you are looking at a tough software
integration before even getting to the robot
algorithms.
Good luck and let us know what you find.
