IIRC, the mailing list does not allow attachments, or if it does, the 
limit is VERY small (on the order of 1k or less).

Historically we had lots of folks on dialup and others that us text only 
email readers (PINE for example) so the decision was made to limit the 
mailing list to bandwidth-friendly text mail. (picture being on dialup, 
  and your mailing list subscription method is digest, and you get 30 or 
so emails that all quote a 1 meg image. yow!) :)

If you like to include pictures, links work well and that allows the end 
user to determine for themselves if they would like to use bandwidth to 
view them. :)
