[Robotgroup] Cleaning up contacts on a Rockman X100?

In the days of Yore, Tom Scholz of "Boston" fame created a device called
the "Rockman":

One small issue is the design uses "slide" switches to change settings.
Because of the age of the device, these switches tend to get "gummy" and
require some "wiggling" in some cases to get them to change or stay in a
selected mode (not to mention they're noisy).
In the days of my youth I would have probably sprayed some "Blue Shower"
cleaner into the switches and exercised them to clean them up. However,
it seems that "Blue Shower" causes cancer in newts or some such and has
been removed from the market by the EPA or the CIA or something. :)
So, the question is, does anyone have any ideas on how to restore the
switches to functionality on this vintage unit w/o damaging or
destroying it? :)
