andré,

   Check out:
http://www.wenzel.com/pdffiles1/pdfs/rays.pdf
for a description of Wenzel's prize for railroad
car rfid circa 1993 from RF Design Awards Contest..
That achievement is what I had mentioned to you at
one of our Thursday meetings of TRG.

Some group members were already a fan of
techlib.com for hobby circuits including his STP
plain air ionizing radiation detector using inexpensive
components using no (Victoreen) high voltage, high
ohms components.
I think his diode leakage version of it could be
used for a super-sensitive "gammavore" or
"betaphobe" or similar, nuclear-material-aware bot.
It is so cheap one may be able to create an imager
of ionizing radiation for reasonable money for sale
(at much higher, of course) to Homeland Security
types or industrial radiation imaging enthusiasts..
I have some ideas about an agc (or maybe alc)
for such an imager. It gives a whole new meaning
to gamma correction.

Wenzel Associates, Inc. is just off of I35 near
Poppadeaux's Seafood Restaurant.
