Following a purge of the browser's cache and a reboot of the system, 
the original images were found in the new cache.  Use the command 
prompt (windows XP pro) to rename *.* to *.jpg.  Then a quick 
pick-through to keep the ones I wanted.

Move along.  There is nothing to see here.
