There may be one left in San Antonio. Unfortunatly is was kind of down town
and sort of hard to get to. Is bantam still going here. They were one of
the last electronics stores. They had like a $10 minimum order to
discourage "hobbyists".

I checked out Altex today, its like a frys on a much smaller scale, but
definitely no electronics there unfortunetly. So is MC howards the only
electronics store in austin? Looks that way?
What about san antonio etc.? Anything within 1-2 hours drive time that is
bigger than MC howards?

I think Bantam has been around for at least a few years. They are close to
HC Howard's, maybe 1/2 mile or so away, IIRC. I didn't mean imply they had
lots of stock, just that they are another source of stuff. Same for Altex. I
think both had better selections in years past.
