Andre,

Which PIC chip-series are you using?

any RG interesting in developing open source demos?

I haven't been coming to meetings since I am working on a number of projects

at the same time, we have 4 new products finishing up. They are based on AVR

and PIC processors, and 2 of the projects are multiprocessor systems. I
usually get 5-10 "demo coders" to take each products, my drivers, docs, etc.

read it all and then create cool demos that show off the hardware. However,
I think that a lot of RG members will be able to use these products in their

projects (anyone that likes basic stamps, HC05/11's, arduinos, propeller
chips, rabbit boards etc. will like these), especially the multprocessor
products since these new controllers are the most feature packed you can
imagine and easy to use -- relatively speaking :)

Anyway, if there are any master embedded programmers that are interested in
doing some fun opensource PIC and or AVR coding in C/ASM, I am preferably
looking for people that are into tools, compilers, and interpreters, I would

like to see basic, logo, forth, etc. something ported to either or both
systems that makes calls to our drivers for video, etc. Thus, not looking
for graphics and game programmers per se, but more system programmers, that
might like writing little OS, compilers, interpreters for these things and
has a lot of experience with that kind of technology. Its also fine to take
opensource interpreters, etc. and "port" it to our systems and then add
features.

When the products launch, I was thinking it might even be possible to brand
some PCBs "Austin Robot Group Edition" and sell them from the RG site and or

to dorkbot affliates for a discount from the price we sell them at, thus
members get a 10% discount or something potentially, but that's something
that we can do latter if the RG is interested in having something like that
for new members. I am thinking they join the group, pay X normally or pay
X+Y to get the controller at a discount. The RG then makes a profit based on

the margin I provide the units at if RG were to buy stock, or a simple
commision per each unit (probably makes more sense since the RG probably
doesn't want to be in the business if stocking and warehousing embedded
systems).

In any event, any master PIC/AVR systems programmers that work fast, like
embedded systems, wearable computers, physcial computing, and have a passion

for compilers, interpreters, OS's, etc. that might be interested send me an
email.

Because of competitors, I can't divulge details publicly, but can privately,

and full disclosure of details, prototypes, etc. will be provided under NDA.

Graduate students from UT very welcome as well, Ph.d candidates even more
welcome :) Just have to know your stuff in practical terms!

This is unpaid, but you will get to keep the prototype units and become
famous for your impressive open source demos/tools :)

Thanks,

Andre'
