He should be backing up all the Eproms, they dont hold charge forever. Only the really old fuse-links can in theory last forever, although there as a regrowth issue with some early ones. OTP ROMs use an UV-EPROM with an opaque package, they wont last much longer than a windowed unit that is kept out of the light.
