I have used their le-108 Wolfcom 8 Channel 240 FPS PCI 
DVR CARD and 812h 380 TVL Weatherproof Night Vision
Color Camera in linux with good results (one out of
four cameras went bad though).

Good open source software: http://www.zoneminder.com/
This one is based on linux, but you can download ready
to install cds and then just use the web interface to
configure it if you don't know linux.

Their DVR packages are a good deal. Also you can look
at them on ebay and save a few bucks.
