Interesting that you mention that Mike, I actually did the same
thing, but used a screen scraper script to remove the manual aspect
of it. I hate non-portable formats, and yahoo definitely made it a
pain to get the messages out.
I meant write something to convert it to standard mbox format and
stick it in the archives, but never got around to it. But I have it
going back to Edwin's first post on Jun 24 2001.
Maybe I'll get around to it one of these days...

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I archived everything that I
could from the Yahoo! mailing list that we used before Evan Harris
offered to host us on puremagic.com.
I sure would like to locate that file because it took hours to
forward each and every email from the archive to one of my
accounts. I do not recall how far back that archive went back but it
was active before I joined the group in August 2001.
