Another fun aspect of meetup.com ... since the BASIC Stamp SIG
meets at 1830 hrs, that event shows up as our next meeting instead
of the regular meeting.
I have a raging sore throat right now and am either coming down
with my first cold in years or another in a long series of sinus
infections. I am tired, grumpy as all Hell and have had enough of
meetup.com for the day.
Someone decide what TRG wants to do about this event on meetup.com
and let me know. It would be far easier for me to stop using it
and get back to something productive.

Hi all--
Us assistant organizers have the option to add two things to the
calendar: meetings and notes. My sense of it is, meetings are
meetings, and all other events-- SIGs, Dorkbots, Maker Fairs,
etc.--
go in as notes. Notes don't have all the advantages of meetings:
people can't RSVP, and Meetup doesn't send out reminders and
announcements. If the consensus is that the BSII SIG should be a
meeting, there might be a way to have Meetup automatically add it
to
the calendar each week, although I haven't really explored that
option since in the past I haven't created any meetings, just notes.

I've deleted the BASIC Stamp SIG meeting from the calendar. Since
that is all that visitors will see from the git-go (because it
precedes the meeting of TRG by an hours), it will play Hell with the
RSVP numbers.
The notes idea is interesting but, without RSVP, it defeats the
original intention.
Being no less tired nor any less grumpy than I was last night, I'll
leave this for some other, more motivated party to figure out.
