Hi back,
I have been working hard on a new hopper for the past several weeks in my copious spare time. This will be the third attempt. If I can steal a few hours of time at work between now and Friday, I will be able to get it done. My fear is that the motor will run too fast and it will need some cheap and dirty way to slow it down. Waaay down. I will be working on that part at night. The new system will require a switch to be activated and monitored by the Stamp, so a bit of code will have to be added. I wish I could help with some other stuff, but I think I should make this my first priority.

Ok folks that whooshing sound you hear is the deadline approaching for
Dorkbot & the EFF/SXSW party! :)
I need some voluntolds.. er.. volunteers to help get some of the things
ready to go. David Nunez requested for Dorkbot:
1) Robospinart
2) Sandraw
3) Ping Pong Printer
and for plutopia, Bon Davis requested:
1) Glamor Girl/ Gatorgirl
2) RoboSpinArt
3) PingPongPrinter
These are the only items that have been requested by name *so far*. This
does not mean other items won't be requested. However, I need some help
in the make-ready dept.
As Mike will be happy to tell you, last year, Glamor girl was not well
enough insulated to prevent someone from being hit with a bit of a
"tickle" if they touched the wrong portion. We need to get her fixed up
so she can be displayed w/o danger of a "Zap" to the audience.
Also, Gator girl's eye mechanism has become detached inside the head
unit. In order for her to peer around suspiciously, the head needs to be
opened and the eye pan/tilt mech repaired.
The RoboSpinArt is (pretty much) ready to go as is the Sandraw machine
(maybe a bit of work on the lights). The PingPongPrinter is getting a
hopper upgrade from Rick, but also should be done in time (Comments
Rick?). :)
So, what I need is someone to take on the two girls (Glam and Gator) to
get them ready for the shows. Anyone? Buhler? Anyone? :)
