[Robotgroup] SXSW/EFF/Dorkbot?

Ok, after reviewing the websites for all these events, they seem more like 
bad VCR instructions! It's hard to get a simple what, where, when, how. 
Anyway, can someone here please answer these simple questions before I go 
nuts :) First, I have a very serious matter I have to attend to in CA, so I 
will be gone for 1 week starting saturday, I would possibly like to "try" 
and check out the SXSW on friday for a couple hours, and then I wanted my 
girlfriend to check out Dorkbot on saturday since she likes stuff like that 
as well. My questions are:

1. Am I blind? or are the SXSW tickets like $300-500? I wanted to go on 
friday to the con center, watch a movie, maybe etc. The tickets are this 
expensive?

2. For dorkbot. Last time, I just showed up. Looks like people are RSVPing 
now. Is this necessary really? Also, are members of the robotgroup 
automatically RSVP'ed + 1 or anything like that? Can someone tell me the 
BEST way to RSVP for the dorkbot, the website is more of a blog than a 
website with easy to access elements.

Shows rsvp 1,2, so I pick 2, takes me here:

Which is just an event system, no way to RSVP that I can see with the mess 
of html blog all over the place.

Can anyone sort this debacle out for those of us that haven't attended these 
things before? (I would ask at the meeting tonight, but can't make it due to 
this upcoming trip).
