Thanks. I see, its "political", now it makes sense why it makes no sense :)

Subject: [Robotgroup] Fwd: SXSW/EFF/Dorkbot?

Just got back from two week trip to new hampshire (colder here than
there!)

Ok please read carefully between the lines:

Dorkbot-sxsw is, like last year, an official sxsw-I event requiring a
badge.

This means we can't advertise it as a "just show up" event or mention
things like "free beer"

Anybody we put on our affiliate or guest list does not need a badge
to get in.

Everyone on the dorkbot-announce list is affiliated. Everyone
rsvping by saying they are coming on upcoming.org is affiliated.
Presenters are affiliated.

We are working w/in the letter of the sxsw law while maintaining the
free and open spirit of dorkbot.

Last year we handed off our 700 name guest list to the volunteers
doing sxsw security.

I do not know if or how they used that list, but if it were ME, I
wouldnt want to scour hundreds of names and email addresses provided
in 8pt type and not in any order. If it were ME, I would just take
the instructions from dorkbot organizers that night and let everyone in

Advice is to get there early as possible to avoid line, regardless.
