[Robotgroup] A humble request-- Please don't HiJack Threads!

Hello All Roboteers! :)
I'm sending this message asking for help. It appears that some folks
have recently posted new topics to the mailing list by using the "reply
to" function on existing messages and then changing the content of the
"subject" line.
This is a problem for myself and others since doing so not only
"interrupts" the threaded conversation, but it "hides" your new message
inside an unrelated topic (as a "reply"), making it less likely people
will notice or respond to your message (in some circles, this practice
is referred to as "thread hijacking").
For those of us who use "threaded" display mailing programs (such as
Mozilla Thunderbird, GMAIL, Outlook etc.) to keep up with a tremendous
amount of email traffic, this behavior makes reading the mailing lists
quite difficult. If we delete a thread in which we have no interest, we
take the chance of deleting a new thread that might have been of great
interest! Here's an example of a thread hijack from another list:

So please, if you are going to post a NEW message, use the "New Email"
function of your mailing program. I understand some folks feel this is
"too much work" or it "easier" to hit "reply" on existing messages.
To alleviate this problem, a convenient link to compose a new message is
included at the bottom of EVERY posting to the mailing list in second
line of the the footer shown here:

Thank you to one and all for your consideration!
