Vern,

The technology is stunning, but the really interesting portion of the
article, from my perspective, is that the speaker boasted of stopping two
terrorists, yet both incidents cited were prior to 9/11/2001. The stepped-up
high-tech invasion of privacy is supposed to be a "necessary" response to
the 9/11 incident, yet the speaker could cite no situation where the hi-tech
hyper-surveillance resulted in a post-9/11 arrest.

Heh. :) I posted this more from the technology stanpoint such as:

"wow, they can detect that low a level of radioactivity at that distance?"

and

"wow, they actually have a field operation unit, (not just laboratory 
proof of concept)

and

"Wow they're actually pulling people over based on the results!"
