Funny, I tried contacting that company before from their ad in N&V and
called up on the phone, I got the dumbiest person on the planet maybe 2nd
only to the AT&T tech support. I thought they were a scam at first, but I
have seen their products. Does he seem like a shady character, normal? They
are out of fremont, CA a few miles from where I lived. Looks like a real
building, so that's a good sign. We wanted to buy some of their BGA adapters
or something at the time and I was really urked by the terriable phone
support and that I pondered, how could they be so bad at customer support
and spend money on ads in N&V (which aren't cheap, since I run them too).

Anyway, what's your feeling on the guy, company?

One of the folks sharing the N&V booth with us at Maker Faire was Neal
Greenberg, VP of Sales & Marketing for SchmartBoard, Inc.

He has a new product called "Solder by Numbers" that they are getting
ready to launch. He asked If I could find some volunteers to beta-test
the idea. If you're interested, here's the sign-up page from the website:

http://www.solderbynumbers.com/

A description from the site is here:

---------------------------- CLIP -----------------------------
SolderByNumbers.com - Electronics For Everyone!
Coming soon, a social network for you, the electronics professional and
enthusiast. Solderbynumbers.com will be a place to design your
electronic circuits while you create a worldwide circuit of peers. The
site will be much more than a social network. It will be a place to
collaborate, create, communicate and learn.
----------------------------/CLIP -----------------------------

I had a look at their system and it's pretty slick. They have a special
PCB design and a system for stuffing/soldering it so that you can make
instruction sheets that others can use as a guide. They want to also
make a web site that others can use to trade ideas and designs.

Looks pretty cool. :)
