[Robotgroup] Austin Recycling (was: Residential Geothermal)

Hmmm, I will look at that. But, definitely the trucks that come here won't
take it no matter what. There is another service that will come and get
stuff for a free. So "pay as you throw" sounds like it, but that's
ridiculous, I am not going to pay to recycle to make them money! I think I
am definitely going to pound on the austin councilman again and see if I can
get him to do something about this. Recycling should be free, or they should
pay US. But, at very least they can make a huge profit from our stuff, they
don't get to double dip and get paid twice, that's just greedy and the
planet is the one that looses.

from this link:

http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/sws/disposal_p.htm

comes the following text:

--------------------- CLIP -----------------------
Paper

Pay-As-You-Throw customers can recycle newspapers, magazines, catalogs,
home office paper and junk mail by putting them in a brown paper grocery
bag or in a separate recycling bin from their recyclable containers.

Solid Waste Services cannot recycle boxboard, tissue or wrapping paper,
facial or toilet tissue, paper towels or napkins, any wet or
food-stained paper, dark-colored paper and envelopes and greeting cards.

If you are not a Pay-As-You-Throw customer, consult your waste company
or building manager about whether to put paper products in your trash or
in your recycling.

Ecology Action accepts similar paper to Solid Waste Services at its
downtown Austin recycling drop off center.

Is it that maybe you're not in the "pay as you throw" group?

Found another link about paper recycling for city of Austin:

Hope that helps... :)
