The best news is that, come October, we will get the sort of 
one-stream recycling that is common is other states ... the city 
delivers a 90-gallon dumpster for the recyclables and pickup occurs 
every other week.

In addition to the standard aluminum / steel cans and glass bottles / 
jars, pretty much everything fiber will be recyclable (newspaper, 
office paper, junk mail, cereal and soft drink boxes, corrugated 
cardboard), and rigid plastics: # 1 through # 7, including yogurt and 
margarine tubs (not just #1 and #2 bottles and jars).

Plastic sacks and polystyrene are still not accepted but this is a 
great leap forward for curbside recycling in Austin!
