GDC still slower than G++ by a factor of 1.4

Let me just bring this up again and mention that G++ still beats GDC by a factor of 1.4 for identical programs.

Seeing as they use the same back-end, this is clearly Not a Good Thing (tm).

Any ideas what can be done about it?
