"It won't respond to any events" sounds a lot like
"I forgot to put it in an .app bundle as required" ?
(wxWidgets has the same problem, when using "wxMac")
So that's "normal" when running from a bin directory.

Then again I didn't look at the code so it might just
be unimplemented :-) Nice work, regardless of which.
