Yes, I'll ping the maintainer about it some time soon.  It's 
possible they were holding off until after the Ubuntu 14.04 
rollout of snapd was complete: there are some changes needed for 
that which might also prove useful for other distros.

Glad to hear it works on 16.10, though.  Including the LTO ... ?
