I'm curious. There was some controversy about the fix to the now 
infamous Issue 5710, and doubt about whether the PR to fix it 
would be merged. I see that the fix is now merged (great!) but I 
see a PR (9702) to revert this, which IMO would be a shame.

Is this a feature we shouldn't get used to?
