GSoC Update

Hello everyone,

The contributor proposal submission period for GSoC has ended and 
we have received 49 applications! Considering that we have 
proposed only 4 projects, this is quite good. Next, we need to 
evaluate the proposals and send to Google a ranked list of 
proposals. Then Google will offer a number of slots that are 
allocated depending on the ranking that we provided. Note that 
Google will take into account multiple factors when choosing the 
number of slots they allocate: number of mentors, the org's past 
experience in GSoC etc. Since we have proposed only 4 projects 
(and we have 5 mentors), our ranked list will most likely contain 
4 proposals (one for each project). Let's hope we get all 4 slots.
