First of all, I apologize for the late reply.

Overall, it was a strange and somewhat unpleasant experience for me. 
This PR was part of the Symmetry Bounty program [1], but after I 
implemented a working version, I wanted to get some user feedback before 
finalizing it. But the Symmetry representative stopped responding to my 
question. Mike Parker wrote that he couldn't help because he was just a 
middleman. So it was a purely organizational issue - Symmetry simply 
ignored me at some point.
