"Small"? "Pet project"??  Porting the entire Xorg X server does not
sound like a "small pet project" in any sense of the word. :-D

Nevertheless, I applaud your effort.  In the long term, one would expect
the code to have less vulnerabilities caused by C's deficiencies, such
arrays decaying to pointers, etc..  But from the sounds of it, it's
currently just a straight transliteration of C into D, so pretty much
all of the problems with a C codebase would still be present.  It will
likely take significant effort to replace the C idioms with D idioms.
I'd be very interested in the result, though, if you get there!
