[Issue 14476] core.thread unit tests failing on FreeBSD 9+

After running the tests some more on my 9.1 i386 VM, it turns out this test is
not the issue.  The FreeBSD-only test added in issue 13416 seems to be the real
culprit, reopened that one instead.
