A bit more detailed manual setup is documented in vibe.d github 
repository manual : https://github.com/rejectedsoftware/vibe.d

Most likely, you need to install libevent and openssl to fix 
linking errors.

What is the way you have installed vibe.d with? `dub` package 
manager is usually considered default and most user-friendly 
approach and it should take care of dependencies. There is also 
an AUR package for Arch Linux (don't know about other distros)
