While Jan is working on the problem (he mentioned some aspects of it in 
the announcement thread, my news <--> mail gateway maintains an archive 
as a side effect.  Those archives don't go back before feb 2006 when I 
started them, but for whatever they're worth:

The archive doesn't have a posting mechanism as part of it, but you 
could always subscribe to the mailing list and post that way.
