The server was up, but the T1 line to the server got accidentally turned
off by the ISP due to a bureaucratic snafu. By the time that was cleared
up, the ISP office responsible for turning it back on had gone home for
the day, so it had to wait until the next morning.
This is the longest (by far) outage the digital mars server has had in 7
years. That's an incredibly good track record, and it's all thanks to
Jan Knepper.
