It can also be installed as a non-root *user* on Linux, following the
instructions listed at:
http://www.prowiki.org/wiki4d/wiki.cgi?D__Tutorial/InstallingDCompiler#InstallingDMDonLinuxX86
The instructions on the DMD home page assumes that you can access /etc,
/usr/local/bin [sic] and /usr/lib - which you can't if you are not root.
