Honestly, I think that naming it 'Diamond' would give it less attention. 
Too many programming languages have 'pretty' or 'cool' names, and I find 
that I choose to ignore those. I think D is good, because it clearly 
says 'Successor to C', and that will easily grab peoples' attention.
