I'm not sure how reliable the comments where about D's performance 
catching peoples eye but if theres some truth in it, just imagine how 
much better D would look if it could match or beat C's performance.  I 
think its quite possible as there are still a lot of opportunities in D 
for optimisation and it is only a few points below gcc.

Hopefully by the end of next year D will be number one in all the highly 
subjective code shootouts.
