There is very little D2 code around, so little changes as this one are possible still. As alternative see also this enhancement request, partially coming from a post of mine in D.learn:

(If you refuse this fallback idea too, then it's better to close this bug report. Keeping too much dead wood in Bugzilla will eventually cause small troubles.)
In my original post my points 2, 6, 8 and 9 are still valid. To be nice they need strings to be a little different from standard arrays.
