I guess error codes, a proven technology!
The lack of exceptions put this language firmly in the
"irrelevant" bracket.
Add that "goto" isn't here and the only way to release resources
on error path is to use RC-managed classes, you can bet the
cleanup lines will be numerous and frequently forgotten.
