No, another shortcoming of NNTP that is innate is that it doesn't 
require an account / authentication : anyone can post without 
registering, emails accounts can be spoofed, etc.

You might argue that this is not a shortcoming, and ok, it's your 
opinion. But it is another aspect of NNTP that is *innate and can't be 
fixed*.
