I'm not an "expert" in this area but I have been following the 
DIPs and current discussion.  FWIW I like the current DIP a lot.  
It may not be as terse as more specialized forms but, IIUC, it 
preserves all the relevant information in simple to process form. 
  Seems like a very good intermediate representation.
