There is no need for this language.

Everything that I have seen and know about Walter strongly suggests that 
he doesn't understand where we are diverging.

It may not be helping that to solve this involves slower DFA's and the 
addition of a type qualifier.

I can prove that the former doesn't need to be the default (and I am 
trying to do so by implementing it).
