Tried it, and it was a complete failure. @safe by default is 
never going to happen, certainly not in OpenD, and I find it 
extremely unlikely upstream will either in any edition. Inferred 
safe also doesn't work.

What *does* work is safe*r* by default. Enable some of the 
highest benefit/cost ratio checks and leave the rest alone:
