It should be easier in some ways, now:

1. nobody cares anymore about applications "looking native".

2. nobody cares anymore about larger downloads because you need 
to ship your own libraries and runtime.

3. the competition is all horrifically slow Electron apps.

and harder: the slow Electron apps are pretty good on IMEs, 
accessibility, and internationalization.
