Whatever else comes of this proposal, the fact that you included the 
text inline prompted me to push a fix for my Render Markdown Messages 
add-on for Thunderbird to better handle word wrapping for tables. 
Hopefully they'll now display correctly for those of us who read these 
messages in Thunderbird. So thank you!
