Thanks for pulling these changes.  Looks like I introduced two problems, 
win32 build failure and a new test failure.

I'll take a look at the new test failure tonight.  I just sent a pull 
request which ought to fix the win32 issue, though I haven't test built it 
yet since I don't have a windows dev environment at work.
