OK I got rdelay running in a chroot as a normal user using chroot(8). It works with sendmail fine if sendmail can find the socket.
But I am getting this error from the relaydelay.pl script:
Attempt to free unreferenced scalar at /bin/relaydelay.pl line 432.
As of today, I'm not really a perl expert, so I wanted to offer this up to see if anyone else knows what it is.
BTW, I took notes on what I did to get this to run and will be posting them here once I solidify the procedure.
