I guess no one try get rid off DMD, but put more resource into
LDC.

Zig made huge success with LLVM first, then try build they own
backend.
DMD is nice for play and testing, with ARM support will be great.
but I hope ARM support not cost too much resource. (maybe use
mold instead dmc tools)
